Dr. Mary Theresa Nelson was a former New York City educator. During her 30 years of service with the Department of Education, she served as a teacher, elementary school principal, assistant principal, staff developer, Teacher Effectiveness Coach, Reading First Coordinator and Director of School Renewal. Mary Theresa is currently an adjunct professor at St. Joseph’s University, mentoring and supervising aspiring teachers as well as administrators. She is also the author of a children’s book Balloons in the Park. Mary Theresa holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Child Study from St. Joseph’s University and 2 Master of Science degrees. One from Brooklyn College in Remedial Reading. The second from Capella University in School Leadership. Mary Theresa holds Doctorate degree in School Leadership from William Howard Taft University.
