Dr. Thomas DeMarco

Dr. Thomas DeMarco currently works for the Executive Leadership Institute (ELI) as a mentor, coach and consultant providing professional development and mentoring for New York City school administrators. As a veteran of the New York City school system Dr. DeMarco has worked as a middle school Social Studies and Language Arts teacher, middle school Dean, Assistant Principal and Principal of both elementary and middle school. He was part of a cohort of successful school principals who earned their Ed.D. at St. John’s University as part of an initiative put in place by former school’s Chancellor Rudy Crew as part of a grant funded by the New York City Board of Education in 1996. Post retirement from the NYC DOE Dr. DeMarco became principal of a Greek Orthodox parochial school providing both secular and religious education to students in Grades Pre-K to 8th grade. Most recently Dr. DeMarco took over a struggling Charter School and served as its Principal for 8 years. He now enjoys sharing his experience, expertise and perspective of public, parochial and charter school with NYC school administrators.
