On November 4, 2019, in collaboration with the Executive Leadership Institute the NYC DOE Office of Compliance Services celebrated 44 principals at its First Annual Compliance Awards Ceremony.
Principals in each borough received marble trophies for Compliance achievement in categories that include: highest percentages of students in temporary housing, special education students and multilingual learners. Also recognized were most Improved Schools in Compliance between 2017/2018 and the 2018/2019 school years, and the top 10 highest performing schools in Compliance across the city.
High school students from Principal Michael Fram’s Repertory Company High School for Theater Arts performed songs from the play Aida to honor the principal awardees. Principals remained to play Compliance Jeopardy and enjoyed friendly competition with their fellow principals.
ELI and CSA value the leadership of Arnold Ali, Executive Director of the NYC DOE Office of Compliance Services for instituting this celebratory event and recognizing our outstanding Principals. We look forward to next year’s event.
