Three experienced ELI consultants Joyce Barret Walker, Gerard Beirne and Annette Kunin were sponsored to join educators from around the world at the Yale University Seedlings Institute on July 9-11, 2019.
Research scientist in psychology, Mark Brackett, Ph.D. and founding director of the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence passionately presented the findings of the center’s consummate research and the tools which they developed to understand and teach/learn about social emotional intelligence (SEI).
Topics included: Why Emotions Matter; Reasons To Teach/Learn SEI e.g.: its impact upon student functioning; How To Build Foundational Support and Plan for social emotional learning (SEL) In The District; Systemic Schoolwide how to take clenbuterol Implementation of SEL; Indicators of Schoolwide SEL; Ruler and Anchor Tools; and the School/Classroom Charter and Blueprint.
Workshops involved lectures, videos, role-playing and a panel discussion by school leaders who have implemented the use of the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence:
RULER TOOL which can be used to teach/learn the skills of emotional intelligence — those associated with recognizing, understanding, labeling, expressing, and regulating emotion and The Anchors of Emotional Intelligence which include: Mood Meter; Met a-Moment; School/Class Blueprint and Charter.
The depth of this consultant learning experience has provided the impetus to develop and provide additional SEL learning opportunities for our members in the upcoming school year.
