Ms. Eva Delgado Sanabria is a dedicated educator with a rich and dynamic career spanning over three decades within the New York City Department of Education. She holds a Master’s Degree in Guidance and Counseling from New York University, coupled with a Professional Administrator Degree from Queens College, which has equipped her with a robust skill set and deep understanding of educational leadership.

Ms. Delgado Sanabria’s journey in education commenced in 1988 as a Paraprofessional for Bilingual Pupil Services, igniting her passion for supporting diverse student populations. Since then, she has held various pivotal roles, including Bilingual Teacher in District 24, Assistant Principal overseeing both elementary and middle schools, and Regional Instructional Specialist for English Language Learners in Region 4, serving Districts 24, 30, and 32. In August 2008, she assumed the role of Principal at PS/IS 127 District 30, a position she held with distinction until August 2023.

Throughout her tenure, Ms. Delgado Sanabria has been a catalyst for positive change and innovation in education. She was honored with a nomination for the prestigious year-long Columbia University Cahn Fellow for Distinguished Principal in 2014, where her project on “How Behavior Affects Students Learning” showcased her visionary leadership. Under her guidance, PS/IS 127 flourished, boasting a sustained Enrichment Dual Language Program from Pre-K to 8th grade. Her expertise led her to be invited as an advisor for the Cahn Fellows, supporting aspiring principals during their intensive program at Columbia University.

Ms. Delgado Sanabria’s contributions extend beyond her school walls. She is an active member of the Council of School Supervisors and Administrators of NYC, holding positions within the Political Action Committee, Presidents Club, and serving as Treasurer for the Middle School Principal Association. Additionally, her commitment to excellence in education led to her membership in the New York Academy of Public Education, where she currently serves as a board member.

Throughout her career, Ms. Delgado Sanabria has been the recipient of numerous accolades, recognizing her outstanding dedication and service. These include the Harry T. Steward award from the NAACP Corona East Elmhurst Branch, the Department of Education Specialties Dean’s Convocation award from St John’s University School of Education, and the nomination for the Patriot Employer Award from the Office of the Secretary of Defense NY Employer Support of the Guard and Reserves. In 2022, she was inducted into the prestigious St John’s University Phil Delta Kappa.

Ms. Delgado Sanabria’s unwavering commitment to teaching English as a New Language has not only impacted countless students but has also cemented her reputation as an expert in her field.
