Maria Ciccone is a veteran New York City educator. She worked for the NYC Department of Education as a teacher, staff developer, coordinator of dual language programs, assistant principal, and as a former principal of a model Early childhood School in Jackson Heights, Queens. She has been working for ELI for the past eight years as a coordinator, mentor and consultant. She facilitates single topic workshops and mentors new assistant principals. She has been instrumental in the development of a series of workshops that support supervisors in the supervision of ELLs and Early childhood programs which has been her passion and expertise. Maria has presented workshops at International, national and local conferences in the topics of Early childhood and English As a New Language. Recently, her workshops have shifted the focus to address both the needs of supervisors and teachers as teams, who are directly impacting student learning.
