Nilda Rivera

Nilda J. Rivera served the New York City Department of Education as a bilingual teacher, assistant principal and principal. She received statewide recognition for achieving the highest reading gains in NYC and for moving her school into a high performance status. She served as an Advisory Committee Vice President to the President of Council of School Administrators and Supervisors before retiring. Nilda has provided mentoring services to new assistant principals and to future leaders through the Executive Leadership Institute’s mentoring program. In addition she has mentored prospective leaders through Fordham University’s ELPEP Program and guided them through the process of becoming effective leaders. Furthermore Nilda has been an adjunct lecturer working with teachers, taking post-graduate courses, in approved leadership programs and she is very satisfied with the progress of the students and their ability to pass their School Building Leader examination on their first attempt. Through her work with the Executive Leadership Institute Nilda has proudly worked with mentees in all school levels: elementary schools, middle schools and high schools.
