A lifelong educator, leader, and advocate, Olivia Francis-Webber’s journey in education spans over three decades, leaving a lasting impact on the New York City public school system and the broader educational community.

Born and raised in Jamaica, West Indies, Olivia moved to New York City at the age of eight, where she quickly distinguished herself as a dedicated student. Excelling in the public school system, she maintained an outstanding academic record, earning a place on the honor roll each year. She embraced rigorous coursework, excelling in Advanced Placement classes, and received recognition from esteemed organizations such as the ARISTA National Honor Society and Who’s Who Among American High School Students.

Olivia’s passion for education led her to pursue higher studies on full academic scholarships at Fordham University and Manhattan College, where she earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees, respectively, graduating with honors. Committed to leadership and professional growth, she later obtained certification in School Administration and Supervision from Pace University.

Over the course of her distinguished 36-year career with the New York City Department of Education, Olivia rose through the ranks as a teacher, Assistant Principal, Program Review Specialist, and ultimately, a Principal for 19 years. As the leader of an inner-city elementary school, she was unwavering in her mission to cultivate a nurturing and academically rigorous environment. She forged impactful partnerships with educational institutions, community organizations, and elected officials—including the Bronx Borough President’s Office, NYC Council, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Fordham University, and multiple cultural and academic institutions—enriching her students’ learning experiences. Beyond the school walls, Olivia was a champion for family and community engagement. She spearheaded numerous workshops and initiatives designed to foster meaningful collaboration between schools and families, empowering parents as active participants in their children’s education.

Her contributions extend to professional leadership as well. She served as President of the New York City Elementary School Principals Association (NYCESPA) from 2018 to 2020 and was actively involved with the Bronx Elementary School Principal Consortium, the CSA Political Action Committee, and several professional organizations, including Phi Delta Kappa and Alpha Mu Gamma.

Olivia’s commitment to service continues through her extensive philanthropic efforts, mentorship, and volunteers with organizations supporting underprivileged communities. She balances her professional passions with a deep dedication to family, cherishing time with her husband, their two sons, daughter-in-law, her beloved grandchildren, family and friends. She lives by her guiding principle: “If you live to learn, you will learn to live. ” A lifelong learner and devoted educator, Olivia remains steadfast in her mission to inspire and uplift future generations of educational leaders.
