Why School Librarians Matter

October 4 @ 9:00 am - 10:00 am

What is the importance of a school library program in student achievement? How does a school librarian positively impact current initiatives and teaching and learning already happening in your school? Join Melissa Jacobs, Director of Library Services, and Vincent Hyland, Library Coordinator, to explore the relationship between strong, integrated school library programs and academic achievement. Learn about practical steps to developing a program, organizing a Library Advisory Committee, and using the School Library Program Rubric (https://www.nysed.gov/curriculum-instruction/nysed-school-library-program-rubric) to design an inclusive program to meet the needs of all students.
