This workshop gives supervisors and school leaders the tools necessary for observing teachers of ELLs and for providing important feedback to improve their teaching practices for the ELL student--including ELLs with diverse needs. The workshop reviews the Danielson, SIOP, and other ELL observational models to further provide supervisors observational feedback support.

This workshop focuses on the use of positive conflict resolution to enhance student achievement and school culture.

Leaders will use research-based tools to explore the best pathways to cultivate affirming, sustainable environments that promote the well-being of all members of the school community. Participants will reflect on meaningful ways to support schools and districts in their pursuit of developing the whole child.

This workshop focuses on our multilingual learners. Through activities and discussions participants gain resources to change the mindset of their teachers by guiding them to look at the talents, spirits, and strengths of our multilingual learners. Participants explore strategies to build student autonomy, agency and resilience to help close the achievement gap.

Participants will develop an understanding of the science on why emotions matter and the five skills of emotional intelligence. Additionally, participants will get an overview of RULER, a whole school, evidence-based approach to social and emotional learning developed by Dr. Marc Brackett.

This workshop supports leaders in implementing strategies that transform learning for children who come to school speaking a different home language. Participants explore and discuss moving from a deficit-based to an asset-based approach to teaching MLs/ELLs. Participants explore leadership roles in support of MLs/Ells’ academic, linguistic, and social-emotional development.
